At Summer Game Fest, there was a big surprise for Assassin’s Creed fans: the long-lost 1666 Amsterdam is back with a dark historical setting and a surprise Steam release.

As we know, those believed to be dead live longer: Hardly anyone expected this.1666: Amsterdam, thelost Assassin’s Creedis finally being released after all. Although it isn’t an AC title, you can clearly sense that it comes from the same lineage. After all, series creator Patrice Désilets is behind the project.

Fans of the series should therefore take a closer look, because the first trailer practically screams for the Assassins—and very dark forces. In Amsterdam in the year 1666, you explore a historical open world where sinister creatures have taken root.

Witchcraft and demons play just as big a role as stealth and exploration. Instead of just using daggers or throwing knives, you’ll also fight with (dark) magic.

Witch and Cat Against Evil Forces

You take on the role of the mysterious Noa Brooklyn, who possesses the giftof tracking downthe Primordials and neutralizing them to secure their power for herself.& nbsp;During the day, you are essentially an investigator who closely examines the city and draws her own conclusions about what is brewing beneath the surface. For the supernatural, demonic beings hide quite innocently behind ordinary people.

But their true horrors come to light at night and want to be fought by you. How you proceed is largely up to you.Your tactics, just like your decisions within the story, affect the final outcome.

But you won’t be on your own as you figure out these encounters. At your side is the mysterious magical cat Aaron, whose perspective you can seamlessly switch to—for example, to explore otherwise hard-to-reach places.

1666: Amsterdam is set to launchin Early Access on Steam later this year. However, you won’t have to wait that long for a sneak peek:The entire first chapter is already available to play for free on Steam. Other platforms have not yet been confirmed, but a release for PS5 and Xbox Series later on is not out of the question.
