“The Gothic story is good, but…” – Remake developers give a glimpse behind the scenes

THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive are once again giving insights into the development of the Gothic Remake. This time, the focus is on the changes compared to the original, in particular the reintegration of content that was originally cut from the plot.

The trailer for the second part of the making of, featured on Find Your Next Game, quoted some of the developers at Alkimia Interactive as saying how they were expanding on the original Gothic story and

fixing plot holes in the old narrative to appeal to both long-time fans and new players.

The remake reinterprets elements that did not make it into the final game at the time and integrates them meaningfully into the plot.The aim is to retain the atmosphere of the original while creating a fresh gaming experience.

The second episode of the making-of series aims to shed light on the creative process behind the remake. The role-playing game is scheduled to be released at some point in 2025.
