The “Oscars of the gaming industry” will once again take place in front of a live audience in Los Angeles in 2022. But don’t worry, you don’t have to travel to faraway California to get some of the atmosphere of the Game Awards 2022. After all, as usual, the big show will also be broadcast as a livestream on the internet.

This year, host Geoff Keighley will also present one or two world premieres, i.e. previously unannounced games and new surprise trailers. If you’re into games, you should be in for quite a treat at a very late hour of the night.

Date and time: What time is the Game Awards 2022?

The Game Awards will take place on the night of 8 to 9 December 2022, starting at 01:30 in the morning. If you can’t be there at such a late hour: The next morning you will of course find all the important announcements here on GlobalESportNews!

Raffle: A Steam Deck every minute

Vavle has announced that it will be giving away a Steam deck to viewers every 60 seconds as a special promotion during the Game Awards. How exactly this works and how you can take part, you can read in our news report about the competition.

Livestreaming platforms: Where to watch the Game Awards?

The Game Awards 2022 will be live streamed on numerous platforms, including (Twitch), (YouTube) and (Twitter). By the way, if you want to take part in the raffle of the Steam Decks, you have to watch via (SteamTV) . We will of course accompany the show with news here on GlobalESportNews, and you can also find all the important trailers here.

Which games will be announced?

According to host Geoff Keighley, new content or info on over 40 well-known games will be presented during the Game Awards, plus “a good portion of new announcements”, according to the presenter. He also wants to show less CGI and more gameplay material, an often-cited criticism of the last two editions of the Game Awards.

Here’s the list of games and appearances already confirmed:

  • Star Wars Jedi Survivor will be shown at the Game Awards. The release date has been revealed via Steam!
  • Baldur’s Gate 3 is also launching with a yet unknown reveal.
  • Final Fantasy 16 will be presented on site by producer Naoki Yoshida himself.
  • Among Us announces big news for the opening of the show.
  • The Last of Us is becoming a TV series, with stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey invited.
  • 505 Games (Payday 2, No Man’s Sky) is planning a Reveal with actor Michael Madsen.
  • Josef Faris, lead developer of It Takes Two, has announced his participation.
  • Tekken 8 has been confirmed for the show, there should be new scenes and info.

Here’s the list of Game Awards 2022 leaks, teasers and rumours:

  • Diablo 4 is set to launch according to a leak and is expected to get its release date at the awards.
  • Hideo Kojima is rumoured to be making an appearance and is throwing around mysterious tweets.
  • Street Fighter 6 could finally reveal its release date, according to speculation.
  • Dead Space is getting a remake, which will reportedly be seen during the show.
  • Redfall, the vampire co-op shooter from the Dishonored makers, will reportedly be there.
  • Elden Ring could be rumoured to unveil DLC as part of the show.

Which games are nominated for awards?

The games nominated for an award were announced on Monday, November 14 at 18:00. This also marks the start of viewer voting. You can participate and vote for your favourites on the (official Discord channel) of the Game Awards. The following games have been nominated:
