Plan your perfect prison break in co-op mode. The third installment of the cult series is coming in 2027 for PC and consoles, featuring fresh RPG elements.
Team17’s The Escapists series is getting a third installment. The Escapists 3 is scheduled for release in 2027 on PC and consoles.
The new installment is set to bring back everything “that fans love about the cult series—packed with even more prisons to explore, weapons to loot and craft, and absurdly crazy escape routes.”
Crafting, Co-Op, and New Skills: An Overview of the Features
In five unique prisons, you’ll plan the perfect escape by crafting, sneaking, fighting, and improvising.
The development team promises more than 120 new weapons to steal and craft, guards whose routines you’ll need to study, and systems just waiting to be exploited.
You can play with one other player in local split-screen mode or with up to four players online. As you play, inmates earn experience points. These allow you to unlock new abilities and game options and specialize in specific escape methods that remain available to you in every prison.
3D Prisons: Team17 Promises a Fresh Perspective
“The Escapists was, in the truest sense of the word, a real breakthrough and a huge success for Team17,” says Harley Homewood, General Manager at Team17. “I’m all the more excited that we’re once again giving players the chance to go behind bars—but this time in fully realized 3D prisons. This gives the fan favorite a fresh perspective, and today’s announcement is just a small taste of what’s to come.”
