In one week, fans can once again slip into the role of Kate Walker. Microids has already released the launch trailer for Syberia: The World Before today. It already sets the mood for this special form of time travel.

Syberia: The World Before tells the story of two strong-willed women who live in different times, in different places in the world. On the one hand, there is 17-year-old Dana Roze, who wants to make a name for herself as a celebrated pianist. But the rising threat of the fascist Brown Shadow and the looming Second World War plunge her Dana’s plans into the unknown.

The other storyline focuses on veteran protagonist Kate Walker. The one-time lawyer is held captive in a salt mine in the taiga and struggles to survive. But that does not seem to be her fate. For a tragic event heralds the beginning of a new adventure, during which Kate must come to terms with her own identity.

Staying true to the gameplay of the series, Syberia: The World Before brings you a puzzle-filled point-and-click adventure. Scrutinise your surroundings as you investigate a story that connects decades and continents.

Adding to the atmospheric mood is the soundtrack by composer Inon Zur, who has already proven his talent on Fallout, Dragon Age, Prince of Persia and Syberia 3.

Syberia: The World Before will be released on 18 March for the P (Steam), (GOG), (Epic) in digital form. This will be followed by the release of a deluxe edition at retail on 31 March. A release for the consoles is to follow later in the year.
