InFAMOUS and Sly Cooper are among the most iconic Playstation classics ever. Now developer Sucker Punch has responded to rumours that they are working on a remake of the two games, disappointing many fans.

No “legacy games” from Sucker Punch in the near future

Meanwhile, Sucker Punch is one of the top Playstation-exclusive studios. Most recently, the open-world action RPG Ghost of Tsushima was a real hit and perennial favourite in PS Store sales. Before that, however, the studio became known and famous for the titles InFAMOUS and Sly Cooper. The former was a fast-paced action adventure with three parts, the latter a comic book-style jump-‘n’-run. Both fan favourites among Playstation veterans. However, as the company’s 25th anniversary approaches, Sucker Punch has now announced that there are currently no plans to revive either franchise.

The reason given by the developers was that other projects, of which there are currently several, require the full attention of the entire team. Therefore, “there are no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper, nor are any other studios currently working on projects related to these franchises,” Sucker Punch said. However, the developers do not rule out the possibility that the two titles would make a comeback at some point in the future and guarantee that they are still very important to them.
