Clearly, Starfield will be a role-playing game. But the new trailer shows that Bethesda’s sci-fi adventure would also cut a pretty good figure as a feature film.

A feature film for Starfield? Before the latest trailer for the Bethesda role-playing game, we probably would have dismissed this thought with a tired smile. But in the course of Opening Night Live at gamescom 2023 a kind of live-action short film was shown that directly convinces us otherwise.

Of course, there are no story details or new gameplay to be seen. Rather, the new teaser serves to convey the atmosphere and the gameplay Bethesda is aiming for with Starfield . So it is fitting that the trailer features an orchestral cover of Elton John’s Rocketman.

There is also a lot for the eye, of course. With thick spaceships, beautiful landscapes and alien planets, the Starfield trailer could directly promote a not exactly cheap sci-fi movie. But it’s best to take a look for yourself:

Starfield to be released very soon Starfield, by the way, will be released as early as 6 September 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. And while the dream of a Starfield movie will probably remain unfulfilled for now, Bethesda fans can look forward to a completely different adaptation of the game studio.

How much do you like the new live-action trailer for Bethesda’s sci-fi role-playing game? What are your hopes and expectations for Starfield? Would you rather have a new The Elder Scrolls or Fallout instead? Or are you looking forward to the completely new brand from Bethesda? Let us know in the comments!
