The Ultra Deluxe version of The Stanley Parable was announced back in 2018, and the release should have been in 2019. We say “should have” because even after the postponement, nothing came of the 2020 launch. When the year 2021 was mentioned, no one took the date seriously any more. Not even the developers themselves. And so this new trailer with the new release begins with the words:
“What does it mean to be a video game developer? It means to lie brazenly and shamelessly. To promise dates that are far outside reality.” But then it shows up – the new (Steam shop page for Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe) with a release date of “Early 2022”.
Whether to trust the developers? It would be nice anyway, because The Stanley Parable is one of the smartest players of all time and questions the way and why we play games in the first place!
