The action-adventure “Lies of P “ by (Neowiz) presents an unusual combination, with Pinocchio as the gritty protagonist in a French-inspired dark gothic world. The game’s trailers so far have already shown that this works well. The playtime of the steampunk soulslik is said to be around 30 hours – but only for one playthrough.

However, Games Director Choi Ji-won from developer studio Round8 has announced that the game offers multiple endings and therefore players should invest more time. There are three different endings in total, depending on the decisions and developments in the game. Choi emphasises that the game is not complete if played only once, and strongly encourages players to make multiple playthroughs.

The concept of repeated playthroughs could keep players hooked longer to explore all facets of the game. Similar to NieR: Automata, different playthroughs are associated with different experiences. Since the game is based on Pinocchio, lies play an important role, and the “lie system” influences the storylines and consequences in the game.

In “Lies of P”, you embody a human Pinocchio in the dark magic-infused city of Krat, which is reminiscent of Victorian London. The city is populated by puppet and robot-like adversaries who, like Pinocchio, are animated anorganisms.

The game will be released on 19 September for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC. It promises a unique gaming experience that presents Pinocchio in a completely new way. If you’re into Soulslikes, you have a lot to look forward to this year with Lies of P and more exciting titles.
