Sony is currently conducting an experiment with dynamic pricing on the PlayStation Store, which was discovered by PSprices. As part of this test, different users are shown different prices for PS5 games, with no increase in prices. According to PSprices, these tests have been running since November 2025 and affect over 150 games in 68 regions.

Focus on personalized discounts

The dynamic pricing aims to examine the impact of discounts and users’ purchase history. Games included in this test include well-known titles such as “God of War,” “Spider-Man,” “Helldivers 2,” and “Stellar Blade.” Third-party games such as “WWE 2K25” and “Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2” are also involved. These games offer discounts ranging from 5.3 percent to 17.6 percent.

Regional differences in the test procedure

The test is being conducted in several regions, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The test is not being conducted in the US and Japan due to stricter regulations and greater market sensitivity. It remains to be seen whether this dynamic pricing will be introduced permanently, as Sony has not yet made any official statements on the matter.
