No other studio will be able to match a game like Baldur’s Gate 3 anytime soon. But if you’re hoping for a gaming experience that’s at least somewhat similar, you shouldn’t lose sight of Solasta 2. Like its predecessor and Baldur’s Gate 3, this role-playing game is based on the rules of Dungeons & Dragons Dragons, and thus bears great similarities to Larian’s masterpiece in terms of class selection and game system alone. In addition, all of its dialogues are voiced, and the 3D graphics are also impressive.

What makes Solasta unique is that you create your entire group of heroes yourself. Each character is created in the editor and their personality is defined. This ensures that everyone feels like a full member and that none of the characters stands out as the leader. However, this also means that you won’t experience such sophisticated character backstories as in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Nevertheless, the role-playing game could be worthwhile; many players really enjoyed the first part. Solasta 2 will be available in early access in early 2026.
