Virtual Reality is revolutionizing the strategy genre – and with Sid Meier’s Civilization VII – VR, one of the most successful game series is entering the immersive world of VR and Mixed Reality The latest chapter is coming exclusively to Meta Quest 3 and 3S and promises an unprecedented gaming experience. Players can experience their civilization from completely new perspectives, negotiate with visionary world leaders, and build their empire up close. The release is scheduled for April 10, and pre-orders have already begun.
A new level of strategic control

A new level of strategic control

With Sid Meier’s Civilization VII – VR, the well-known gameplay gets a revolutionary addition. Developed by PlaySide Studios in collaboration with Firaxis Games, the game has been optimized for VR and mixed reality. Thanks to an innovative interface design, players can seamlessly switch between the strategic bird’s eye view and direct interaction with individual buildings or units.

The new mixed-reality features should integrate the playing field into the real environment. The virtual war table can be projected directly into the living room so that moves can be planned in realistic size. This immersive approach enables an even deeper connection to the game world and ensures a unique Civilization experience.

A special highlight is the diplomacy function: world leaders appear in an interactive chamber where you can conduct negotiations in real time. Be it the forging of alliances or an impending declaration of war. Every decision has far-reaching consequences and is experienced more intensely than ever before thanks to VR technology.

Multiplayer, historical victories and new challenges

In addition to the single-player mode, Civilization VII – VR offers a multiplayer option in which up to four players can build their empires and fight for supremacy. Those who prefer to revel in their past successes can view past conquests as interactive dioramas in the archives and relive legendary moments.

The game is rated 12 on the USK age rating system and will be available to purchase for €59.99 from the Meta Horizon Store.
