Sci-Fi shooter Black State shows dream graphics with RTX 5090 – and an ancient effect

The RTX presentation by Nvidia and Motion Blur shows fantastic reflections in the third-person shooter Black State – and “explosions like in the year 2000”.

We have cut the two trailers from CES 2025 together for you. In the YouTube comments, users make fun of the old-fashioned fire effects: “Isn’t it crazy to have all this technology and still make fire with flat, low-resolution 2D textures?”

The rest looks great though, the fancy reflections are presented via graphics comparison and were recorded on a new Nvidia RTX 5090.

Black State does not yet have a release date. The game with the Unreal Engine 5 keeps causing a stir with its chic graphics, but there are doubts about its feasibility.
