The Polish development studio (11 bit studios) has today released an exciting new trailer for its upcoming sci-fi adventure “The Alters”. This game, based on a brand new IP, promises a unique gaming experience. The trailer gives a first glimpse of the gameplay and introduces the protagonist Jan. Jan is a simple worker who is stranded on a distant planet and faces seemingly insurmountable challenges. Interestingly, the trailer shows several different versions of Jan, each with their own unique life path that makes them similar, yet distinct individuals. In order to survive, it is crucial that these different versions of Jan build relationships with each other.

What to expect with The Alters

“The Alters” follows 11 bit studios’ motto of providing entertainment with depth. The game combines elements of the base-building survival genre with life-changing decisions and the exploration of different paths that ensue. The planet on which Jan has crash-landed is moving towards a huge sun, causing radiation levels to rise dangerously. Jan must mine local Rapidium crystals in a desperate race against time to create different versions of herself called “Alters. “

Teamwork and skill development in different areas are crucial as the game takes place in a rolling operations centre. Jan can award unique skills by choosing different life paths for his ages, which are vital for maintaining the base, preparing food, crafting tools for exploring the surface and gathering vital resources.

The Alters, however, are more than just resources. They are thinking beings with their own emotions, problems, goals and even self-doubt about their existence. Despite their differences, they share a common goal: escape from this dangerous planet. They share Jan’s conviction: “I can do this with all of us together. “

“The Alters” is scheduled for release in 2024 for PC and current-gen consoles. With its unique blend of survival, decision-making and interpersonal relationships, the game promises to be an exciting sci-fi adventure.
