“Schnappsmaxxing”: Did you know that you don’t have to brew potions in Kingdom Come 2? Players can hardly believe how much easier it is.

To brew potions, you have to boil them in a cauldron… right? No, it’s much easier and faster if you make a few compromises.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is surprisingly cozy. Especially if you put aside the gripping story of war, revenge, and intrigue for a while and instead let Heinrich pick flowers and brew potions at his leisure. The scraping of mortars and pestles, the bubbling cauldron – many players love this immersive aspect, but some are driven by impatience.

Alchemy is not only soothing, but also extremely useful, especially for brewing the rescue schnapps that allows you to save outside of a bed. Those who brew a lot can risk a lot later on. Those who consume large quantities will spend a corresponding amount of time standing at the stove, grinding belladonna and simmering wine. As it turns out, this is unnecessary!

The fastest method of making rescue schnapps will get you the potion in 30 seconds. All you need are the ingredients and nothing else.
It almost feels like cheating, but it’s not. We’ll explain how it works.

How to brew rescue schnapps quickly and easily
Get the ingredients (i.e., nettles and belladonna; wine is available at every alchemy table).

Where can I find the herbs? Nettles grow almost everywhere, just walk along any settlement or along the fences by the paths. You can find belladonna in the Trosky region, for example, near Bozhena’s clearing. Or just behind the butcher’s in Troskowitz – search the southeastern grove. In Kuttenberg, go a few steps east behind the Devil’s Refuge alchemy table. Or simply buy belladonna from apothecaries.

It doesn’t matter whether you bring fresh or dried herbs to the alchemy table. Prepare the ingredients, pour wine into the cauldron – and from now on, ignore the recipe. Forget that you’re supposed to grind two portions of belladonna; instead, just throw a handful of nettles and a handful of belladonna into the cauldron and pour the potion into a vial. Yes, without boiling. You can find proof that this works here on Reddit, for example:

By the way, you can do this not only with Saviour Schnapps, but with all potions in the game.  As long as the base and the basic ingredients are correct, the game recognizes what you’re trying to concoct and gives you at least a potion of mercy.

For comparison: This is how you brew rescue schnapps according to the instructions, which takes a good deal longer:

The limitations: Of course, the quick method also has disadvantages. The quality of your brew will be lower than if you follow the recipe. In the case of rescue schnapps, this means you will get no buffs or weaker buffs. However, it will still be saved.

A high alchemy skill can compensate for this to a certain extent. If you also choose perks that give you more potions per brewing process, you can produce several potions at once, even with rudimentary mixtures.

Some fans share in the thread that they even prefer the weaker version of Night Hawk Potion. This drink dilates your pupils so much that you can see much better in the dark. However, fire or sunlight will also blind you. A strong potion sometimes lasts so long that Heinrich is still impaired the following day.
