Without much warning, Sony has lifted the veil: “Ghost of Yotei” will be released on October 2, 2025 exclusively for the PS5. The new title from Sucker Punch is more than just a spiritual successor to “Ghost of Tsushima” – it brings a new heroine, an even more open world, and a dark story full of revenge.

At the center is Atsu, a survivor with deep scars and an even deeper anger. A brutal group called the “Yōtei Six” once destroyed her life. Now, years later, she returns to her homeland—armed, determined, and with a list of names that include the Dragon, the Spider, and the Kitsune. And they all have one thing in common: they must die.

The open game world on the island of Ezo – today’s Hokkaido – is not only the setting for a bloody vendetta, but also full of secrets, side missions, and meditative moments. In addition to thefight against the Yōtei Six, you can hunt bandits, learn new fighting techniques from the weapons master, or recharge your batteries around campfires.

Sucker Punch promises gameplay that emphasizes freedom: you decide in which order you take down your targets – and how brutally or quietly you go about it.
