The Capcom Showcase took place tonight. As part of it, the company revealed exciting updates to the Resident Evil franchise. Look forward to news about RE Village, RE 4 and other parts of the series. In addition, there is finally a launch date for the multiplayer.

News on Resident Evil Village

The PlayStation State of Play already revealed the first news about the Resident Evil franchise. But tonight Capcom revealed what else is in store for fans in the coming months.

The Winter expansion for Resident Evil Village will be released on 28 October. This contains a 3rd-person mode for the campaign, new modes in the mercenary mode and the DLC Shadows of Rose. This DLC takes place 16 years after the events of Village and follows the story of Rosemary Winters, Ethan’s daughter. On the same date, the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition will be released, a bundle of the Winters expansion and the main game. In addition, the long-awaited multiplayer Resident Evil: Re:Verse also launches on this date.

Anxiety in many forms

Naturally, the developers also came to talk about the Resident Evil 4 remake. They emphasised that they wanted to reinforce key feelings such as fear, loneliness and blinding from fanaticism. They want to have a new gameplay experience ready when the remake is released on 24 March 2023, they said.

Until then, you can make do with RE 2, RE 3 and RE biohazard. Available today for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X
