The remake of Resident Evil 4 is just around the corner. Now you can get your own impression of the remake before the release with the Chainsaw Demo.

On 24 March 2023 the time has finally come: The remake of Resident Evil 4 will be released. But if you don t want to wait any longer and already want to hand out roundhouse kicks in the role of Leon S. Kennedy, now is the perfect opportunity to do so: With the so-called Chainsaw Demo you can play the Resident Evil 4 remake even before release.

In this overview we provide you with all the info about the demo: what’s inside, how big the download is and how long you have to clean up the village of Los Ganados. And yes, the Chainsaw Demo is free, so you don’t have to spend a cent on it or pre-order anything.

Release and time limit: From when to when is the demo playable?

The Resident Evil 4 Remake Demo is available since last night and playable until the final release of the game. So the specific dates are as follows:

  • Playable since: 10 March 2023
  • Playable until: on 24 March 2023

No time limit: Unlike previous trial versions of the Resident Evil series, there is no time limit on the Chainsaw Demo. This means you can try your hand at it as often and as long as you want.

depending on the platform.

Content: What kind of content does the demo offer?

The content of the Resident Evil 4 Remake Demo is limited to the first 20 minutes of the game So we see the opening cutscene and join Leon S. Kennedy as he heads to a sprawling village somewhere in Spain in search of the president’s daughter, Ashley Graham. This leads to the iconic battle in the village square, where Leon takes on Los Ganados and also the chainsaw-wielding Dr. Salvador.

What else you should know about the Resident Evil 4 remake

The Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on March 24, 2023 for PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 4. While the remake will be fairly faithful to the original in the manner of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, there are also a few significant changes.
