Actually, players should be able to start the game three days earlier and get more content with the Collector’s Edition. But that’s definitely not going to happen.

It is not going to be quiet around Ubisoft’s currently most popular major project.A few weeks ago, Assassin’s Creed Shadows was surprisingly postponed for several months.

Now the French publisher has announced a further change for the next part of the popular game series. And that affects, among other things, the Collector’s Edition.

In a Q&A on Reddit, Ubisoft announced that the price of the Collector’s Edition will change. The original price of 280 euros will be reduced to 230 euros.

Price of the edition is reduced

However, the edition no longer has the scope it was originally intended to have.Among other things, it was originally supposed to include a season pass, an art book and figures of the two main characters Naoe and Yasuke.

Season Pass holders were to receive more content for the game, such as a bonus quest and two planned expansions.

Is there even a contest?

But a good month ago, the publisher announced that it would no longer be using the traditional season pass model in the future. It was also stated in the Q&A that the Collector’s Edition would no longer have early access, as is the case with all editions of the game.

This means that players will no longer be able to play Assassin’s Creed Shadows three days before the actual release on February 14, 2025.In addition, Ubisoft had already announced that the title would also be released on Steam from the day of release.

Incidentally, shortly after the title was postponed, it was revealed that Ubisoft had been working on a co-op mode for Assassin’s Creed Shadows for quite some time. According to industry insider Tom Henderson, work is underway under the code name “League”.

However, it is not yet known when the mode will be released. The postponement of the release date will affect the entire production process – including the planned co-op mode.
