PlayStation has announced a new series of accessories. Under the name “Hyperpop Collection,” new color variants for DualSense controllers and matching console covers for the PlayStation 5 will be released in March.

Three new color designs

The Hyperpop Collection includes three color variants: Techno Red, Remix Green, and Rhythm Blue. The designs are intended for DualSense controllers and PS5 console covers.
According to PlayStation, the design is based on color-intensive gaming setups with RGB lighting.
Statements from the design team
Leo Cardoso from PlayStation’s Color, Material, and Finish Design Team explained that the new collection was inspired by the aesthetics of modern gaming environments.
The goal was to develop colors that clearly stand out from previous variants.

Release and pre-orders

The Hyperpop Collection will be released on March 12. Pre-orders will start on January 16. Distribution will be via PlayStation Direct and selected retail partners, depending on the respective market.

Prices of the DualSense controllers

The Hyperpop DualSense controllers will be available at a suggested retail price of $84.99, €84.99, and £74.99, respectively. In Japan, the price is 12,480 yen including tax. This puts the controllers at the same price point as previous limited edition models.

Console covers only for certain models

In addition to the controllers, PS5 console covers in the Hyperpop design will also be available. These are available for a limited time and cost $74.99, €74.99, or £64.99. In Japan, the price is 11,480 yen including tax.

The console covers are only compatible with the Slim version of the PlayStation 5. They are not suitable for the original launch models or the PlayStation 5 Pro.

With the Hyperpop Collection, PlayStation is expanding its existing range of colored controllers and console covers. The series joins a growing number of special and designer variants that are offered alongside the standard colors.
