The loot may not be worth it, but players find other positive aspects to the missions.

In Arc Raiders, players explore a post-apocalyptic Italy in search of loot and adventure. You can do this on your own or let yourself be guided through the game world by what are now 66 story quests.

According to one player, these missions are hardly worth it, but the community sees things a little differently.

After completing all 60 “story quests,” I must say: It was NOT worth it.

“It wasn’t worth it”

So Reddit user PizaurusRex describes his experience after completing all the quests in Arc Raiders. In his opinion, the game sends you to the middle of nowhere, where there is no good loot.

He also criticizes the fact that there are no experience points and most rewards are useless. As rewards, he received crafting materials, low-level weapons, and a few blueprints and cosmetics.

PizaurusRex would not do the quests again after giving up his progress on an expedition. Unless the rewards were improved.

Community considers quests a useful feature

Below the post, there are numerous players who clearly enjoy the missions more, even though they agree that the rewards are not particularly good.

However, they can derive other benefits from the missions that greatly enrich their personal gaming experience.

  • “The rewards were rather mediocre; I would have been satisfied with blueprints for consumables or similar items, but the quests motivated me to explore parts of the maps and accomplish tasks. Having a goal is always more fun than just: ‘Ah, let’s try a red loot area and get shot there.’“ – rakadur
  • ”It adds backstory. Makes you search places you wouldn’t necessarily search, and even helps you find things you wouldn’t expect, like a blueprint in an area that isn’t known for valuable loot.”  – Chemical_Director_25
  • ”I actually think the outfits are worth the quests. Not to mention that it pushes many players out of their comfort zone and gives them a glimpse of most of the hotspots on the maps.“ – noirultra
  • ”I understand what you mean, but the story quests give the game meaning for me. It’s not about the reward for me, it’s about gamifying the actual game beyond just killing people and looting. I read my quest, which leads me to a specific map with a specific goal, and I feel satisfaction in making progress.“ – Nevragen

If you’re only interested in good rewards from quests, Arc Raiders is probably not the right game for you right now. Nevertheless, there are many players who find meaning in the tasks beyond the loot. For example, discovering new places in the game world, learning more about the lore, or simply the good feeling of having completed a mission.
