The State of Play is expected to feature an in-depth look at the gameplay, as well as new insights into the storyline and combat system. Phantom Blade Zero is set to launch on October 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC.

State of Play to Provide Deeper Insights into the Combat System

The new action-adventure game is being developed by S-Game, which plans to offer a detailed look at the combat system during the showcase. The focus will be on showing players the various options available to them in combat. S-Game aims to showcase different builds and playstyles. Additionally, further details about the story will be revealed, including new characters who play a central role in the plot.

On the PlayStation.Blog, S-Game CEO Soulframe Liang commented on the upcoming State of Play: “The State of Play featuring a detailed gameplay look at Phantom Blade Zero introduces previously unseen characters who are central to our story. At the same time, it shows just how expressive players can be with their individual builds. We’re excited to finally show more of what we’ve been working on.”

Donnie Yen was involved in Phantom Blade Zero

S-Game not only announced the State of Play, but also revealed that the famous martial arts actor Donnie Yen was involved in the development of Phantom Blade Zero. Yen served as a consultant for action choreography during development. He also handled the facial capture and motion capture for Mó Yuan. Mó Yuan’s role is already known—he is the father of the protagonist, Soul.
