*The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt* is coming to Battle.net with a surprise remaster and will celebrate the DLC release next year with a *Diablo 4* collaboration.
At gamescom 2026, a surprising alliance was announced:CD Projekt Red will release TheWitcher 3: Wild Hunton Battlenet, the platform where games from Blizzard and Activision are usually found. The hit RPG will be available there on September 29, when the free remaster—also announced at gamescom—hits the stores.
But that’s not all. Next year will also see the release of the new DLC, Songs of the Past, which—eleven years after the original game’s release—serves as Geralt’s farewell, so to speak. The expansion will also be available on Battle.net and will be accompanied by a surprising collaboration:Geralt of Rivia will make a guest appearance in Diablo 4 to celebrate the store partnership in style.
To take part in the crossover, however, you’ll need to pre-order the add-on on Battle.net. Then, upon launch, you’ll receive an exclusive Geralt skin for Diablo 4.CD Projekt RedandBlizzardhave both published blog posts announcing the news, which we’ve linked here.

Both companies state that this is just the beginning of their collaboration. It’s safe to assume, then, that there will be further collaboration in the future—in whatever form that may take.More information is expected at this year’s BlizzCon, which begins on September 12.
On Redditthe crossover is already being discussed extensively. Some are simply excited that two of the most popular current games are releasing content together. Others are upset that you have to pre-order the DLC to get the skin and fear that it will eventually—if at all—only make its way to the in-game store at a steep price. However, it’s not yet known how much the Witcher add-on (and thus the skin) will ultimately cost.

“Songs of the Past” will take place in Letten, the homeland of Rittersporn, and thus lead us into a new region. New characters, story quests, and challenges are said to await there. A new weapon—a chain—was also spotted; it was first teased in The Witcher 1 but hasn’t appeared in the game since.
The remaster is expected to primarily feature graphical improvements, but will also revamp the combat system and the skill tree to offer more freedom. The DLC does not yet have a fixed release date, while the remaster will be released for free on September 29 for all owners of the main game—including, by the way, the two previous story add-ons.
