Hello Games is celebrating its tenth anniversary with biomechanical ships, seamless starlights, and a free-to-play version for iPhone and iPad.

No Man’s Sky isn’t just launching today for iOS devices—you’ll also get the brand-new Forsaken update at the same time.

The port for iPads and iPhones includes all previous updates, and Forsaken is included right from the start. You can try the game for free in the App Store.

A morbid look for your ships: Cursed Relics and Biomechanical Corvette Modules

Meanwhile, in Forsaken, you’ll set out in search of rare cursed technology and biological horrors. To do so, however, you’ll have to venture into the most eerie corners of No Man’s Sky—such as decaying wrecks, abandoned freighters, planetary excavation sites, or contaminated outposts.

These strange, ominous finds have attracted enigmatic traders from all corners of the universe: They’re all eager to acquire specimens for their cabinets of curiosities and offer valuable items in exchange. If you take a closer look at the debris, you can recover relics and trade them with interested buyers for new biomechanical corvette modules.

“This lets you give your ships a fascinatingly alien appearance and give sleek sci-fi craft a wonderfully morbid, organic look,” emphasizes Hello Games’ Sean Murray. “For shipbuilding, you’ll also find several new cockpits as well as a fresh interior set inspired by a galaxy far, far away.”

Maggot Cannon and Galactic Courier Service: New Gear and Quality-of-Life Features

In addition, new designs for weapons and spacesuits are available, including the Larva Tank helmet. If you deliver enough of the preserved pests, you’ll even unlock the twitching Maggot Cannon multitool.

Furthermore, in brand-new post-mission quests, you’ll deliver packages throughout the galaxy as a galactic courier. These are joined by a radial menu for weapon selection and a reduced minimal HUD mode—both quality-of-life requests from the community. Dozens of accessibility options have also been integrated for iOS.

Seamless Warp Jumps Without a Galaxy Map: 10 Years of No Man’s Sky and Plans for 2027

“With Forsaken, we’re also introducing seamless warp jumps to neighboring stars: Just aim for the brightest stars in the sky and jump right away—no detour via the galaxy map,” Murray continues.

“The 10th-anniversary year has been quite a challenge for the No Man’s Sky team: Forsaken is already our fifth major update in a row (following Remnant, Xeno Arena, The Swarm, and Cosmos). At the same time, we’re now bringing the universe to ambitious new platforms like the iPhone and iPad. And behind the scenes, we’re already planning the next big thing for 2027.”

On the official website, you’ll find all the details about the Forsaken update as well as the iOS version.
