The Elden Ring community may be preparing for an imminent DLC release as a Steam update catches the attention of fans. The (developers at FromSoftware) have remained largely silent since the announcement of theextensive DLC “Shadow of the Erdtree” in February 2023 and even avoided a trailer. Now, however, indications on Steam suggest that the completion of the DLC could be imminent

The rumors about a possible release in February, which were already circulating at the end of last year, are further fueled by the Steam update. The SteamDB website, which is connected to the Steam interface, shows a recent update for Elden Ring. A new DLC entry has been added, but it is currently still listed as an “Unknown App”. Although it does not necessarily have to be “Shadow of the Erdtree”, the assumption is obvious due to the lack of other DLC announcements.

The DLC section so far only contains pre-order content and Deluxe Edition content. The Colosseum update from the end of 2022, which brought additional content, is not listed as DLC. Therefore, the Steam change probably indicates a more extensive DLC

If the update does indeed point to the large Elden Ring DLC, the release could be within reach. While the exact details of “Shadow of the Erdtree” remain murky, anticipation in the Elden Ring community is growing with the latest developments.
