This week sees the release of some exciting games like Far Cry 6 and the remaster of Alan Wake. We have the overview for you!

October 2021 will be a really strong gaming month: Far Cry 6, one of the biggest action thrillers of the year, will be released right at the start, followed by Age of Empires 4, Back 4 Blood, Guardians of the Galaxy and more. For now, we’ll list what’s coming out in the week of 4 October. Have fun browsing!

Don’t forget: The Steam Next Fest is currently running, where you can once again try out hundreds of free demos. You have until 7 October 2021 to try out upcoming games from all genres! Over the next few days, GlobalEsportNews will introduce you to some of our personal favourites

Highlight of the week: Far Cry 6

Fighting cock and alligator in tow? Check. Lots of weapons from flamethrowers to CD launchers in tow? Check. A crazed dictator against whom we wage bombastic guerrilla warfare? Also check. This can only be about one game – of course we’re talking about Far Cry 6.

After the excursion into an American cult world, this time the series takes us to the tropical island state of Yara, where we get caught up in an unequal struggle between oppressors and oppressed. And the Season Pass brings some additional treats for fans of the old villains Vaas, Pagan Min and Father Joseph.

In our play-through preview, we reveal what we really like so far and where Ubisoft needs a little more fire:

Played Far Cry 6 for seven hours: This open world has everything but guts

More PC releases from 4 to 10 October 2021

From Monday, 4 October

The Judgement of Q: 2.5D puzzle where you have to figure out the controls yourself – and some buttons are better never pressed.

From Tuesday, 5 October

Alan Wake Remastered: Only recently announced, now the remaster of the dark action adventure is already in the starting blocks. The nightmare story doesn’t change, but the graphics have been upgraded and the two DLCs are included.

Jett: The Far Shore: Unusual action adventure in which you explore an unknown planet with your glider. Exclusive to Epic

Wasteland 3: Cult of the Holy Detonation: The final DLC for the end-time role-playing game is thematically reminiscent of Fallout 3 and the Megaton bomb. Here, too, cultists worship a potential nuclear catastrophe.

Succubus (+18): As the name suggests, there are some naked facts to be seen here. But most of all, you’ll be busting demons in the Agony spin-off.

Hotel Magnate: Colourful construction game in which you build and manage the hotel of your dreams. Starts in Early Access for now. Beware, no German subtitles or menus!

Balcony: If you had a crazy time at university, Balcony wants to bring back those wonderful (or traumatic) memories. In the fun game you celebrate secret parties with T-Rex and Co. Just what you do at university.

From Wednesday, 6 October

Jack Axe: The warrior Jack protests against the law, grabs weapons and cleans up properly with her sisters in pixel action. For the setting, the developers mix Viking and Filipino sagas.

Lawnmower Game: Battle: If you find the Lawn Mowing Simulator far too cosy, you may find fulfilment here. On the back of your noble lawn mower you go to war against evil machines!

From Thursday, 7 October

Far Cry 6: All info and our preview can be found above, listed here just for completeness.

Age of Darkness: Final Stand: Dark fantasy in the guise of real-time tactics. True hordes of enemies want to overrun you – the “SwarmTechnology” is supposed to be able to render up to 70,000 units. Available for the first time in Early Access.

The Last Campfire: The cute game from Hello Games, who developed No Man’s Sky, is finally coming to Steam. Previously it was only available on the Epic Games Store for a year

The Lightbringer:Puzzle, jump, fight and explore the world in a Zelda look. This adventure game aims to offer you a mix of melancholic mood and challenging gameplay

Eclipse: Iso-perspective action role-playing game in which you clear dangerous dungeons of monsters. Twist: You use sci-fi weapons in a classic medieval fantasy setting.

Ship Graveyard Simulator: Prologue: Where do ships go to die? That’s what you’ll find out in this simulation game. For now the free entry is released, the full version is as good as ready according to the developers.

From Friday, October 8

Deep Despair 2: Pixelated open world with lots of freedom: you can fight, cook, travel, blacksmith, build and much more.

From Saturday, 9 October

Shelter Manager: Yes, this game has been on our release list a few times. Somehow the post-apocalypse survival keeps getting postponed – maybe this time it’s for real!

In the monthly preview, we reveal what you can look forward to in the coming weeks!
