This week there are many new, exciting PC games. Especially role-playing game and shooter fans should take a look at the releases of the week.

This week you can expect not only gamescom 2021, but also some exciting game releases on Steam. Especially fans of role-playing games and shooters should take a close look, because two popular series are returning.

Highlight of the week: King’s Bounty 2

After 13 years of waiting and quite a few expansions, King’s Bounty is finally getting a real sequel on 24 August 2021. If you’ve never heard of it, the game series is a turn-based tactical role-playing game in the style of Heroes of Might & Magic. So you explore a huge game world, recruit new troops in the form of soldiers, wizards, monsters and more, and use them in turn-based hex battles.

The biggest innovation in the new part of the series is the leap from the iso to the third-person perspective, because you now explore the game world like in a 3D role-playing game à la Gothic. But you can’t expect a real open world; instead, during the 50-hour story, you’ll pass through various large areas where quest givers, conversations, puzzles and, of course, battles await you. The battles are again just as strategic and turn-based as you would expect from the series.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Unfortunately, the games in the popular Alien franchise vary greatly in quality: while Alien: Isolation was a terrific scary adventure, the shooter Alien: Colonial Marines turned out to be a huge flop after an unfortunate development.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is the next attempt to publish a really good shooter in the Alien universe. In co-op, three players take on the role of marines who fight their way through a total of twelve different missions. You can imagine the whole thing like Left 4 Dead from the third-person perspective, except that here you shoot twenty different types of xenomorph instead of zombies. You can find out whether the result is fun in our upcoming test just in time for the release.
