The Monster Hunter Wilds beta has caused a stir. While the game seems to be well received, technical issues have caused frustration for some players.

The recently concluded beta of Monster Hunter Wilds had to contend with some massive technical issues on PC. This naturally caused frustration for many players. Developer and publisher Capcom has already commented on this and given the all-clear for the full release – at least in part.

“I think I have to cancel my pre-order”

The Monster Hunter Wilds beta was a huge success – at least in terms of player numbers. Over 400,000 people took part in the beta on Steam within the first day. However, there was a fly in the ointment.

Numerous PC gamers report bugs, frame rate drops, and graphics issues. The Reddit user bf_Lucius posted a picture of his gaming experience, which presumably depicts Poogie the Pig. He comments on the post with the heading: “I think I might have to cancel my preorder”.

In the comments, other users take a humorous approach and share their thoughts on the polygon blob. Asdioh, for example, asks :

.. is that Poogie?

GladeHeart then notesthat everything looks like Poogie if you just lower the resolution enough.

Handerson15 is also unhappy with the technical state of affairs, as he tells in another Reddit post There he complains that Monster Hunter Wilds seems to hardly run even with a 3060ti. In the comments, other users report similar problems.

Capcom gives a partial all-clear

Via X Capcom has announced that the build of Monster Hunter Wilds they are currently working on is already further along and significantly better than the one in the beta. The bug that was responsible for the graphics issues has already been discovered and will not be present in the final release version.

However, some problems are not related to bugs and come from the high system requirements. Even those with a slightly older PC may have to deal with major losses.

However, as can be seen from the Reddit posts, there were also numerous PC gamers who had no issues with the beta. The same applies to console gamers, for whom the test period was mostly without complications. Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
