The Blood of Dawnwalkershows 20 minutes of gameplay in one go for the first time. The developers from Studio Rebel Wolves present their gameplay mechanics and systems such as the inventory, quests, vampire abilities and sword fights in detail.

The gameplay section shown depicts a mission from around the middle of the story. The title hero Coen has to investigate a rumor about a mysterious weapon that is said to be hidden in the crypt of an old cathedral.

He encounters multiple enemies in both human and vampire form and demonstrates the direction-based combat system, which is reminiscent of titles such as Kingdom Come and For Honor, but also includes special abilities à la The Witcher.

But for Coen, the difference between his two characters doesn’t end in battle: as a bloodsucker, he can teleport across the rooftops of the city at night and must manage his thirst for blood, which is linked to his life energy. This results in a completely different style of play than during the day.

The Blood of Dawnwalker will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles as well as PC in 2026. When it comes to the open world, the developers want to “go the way of Gothic”.
