gamescom 2021 starts on 25 August. All information about the shows, the Opening Night Live, gamescom studios and much more.
The biggest video game fair in the world is just around the corner. Due to the pandemic, gamescom will be held purely digitally again this year. Video game fans can still look forward to a rich programme full of special shows, game presentations and familiar faces. We have compiled an overview of everything that awaits you at gamescom 2021.
The official gamescom programme
This year’s gamescom will take place from 25 to 27 August. Online access is free for all interested parties. Over 70 developer studios will present their new games. Among them are popular publishers like Activision, Bethesda and Epic Games as well as Electronic Arts, Konami and many more. You can easily follow the shows on the official gamescom Twitch channel or on the gamescom now portal. Furthermore, numerous creators will be streaming the event in various languages on their channels.
IGN will once again present the show “gamescom: Awesome Indies”. Around 40 indie games will be presented there, with new trailers and comedy bits. The indie show will run on 26 August from 8:30 to 10 pm.
The gamescom congress, a conference on the social, economic and cultural potential of video games, will also start at 10:30 a.m. on 26 August.

Additional shows by Xbox, Rocket Beans TV and Co.
In addition to the official gamescom programme, other companies are also creating special content for the fair.
Rocket Beans, for example, is once again hosting the special event “Gamevasion”, together with influencers such as Kalle, Gnu or HandOfBlood. In addition to Let’s Plays or interviews, the duel “Hamburg vs. Spandau” will take place again, in which different personalities will compete against each other in several titles. The special can be watched on the Rocket Beans channels as well as at the Influencers.

Xbox is also present at gamescom, but is preparing an additional stream of its own. It will start on 24 August at 7 pm. New information about upcoming titles and the Xbox Game Pass will be revealed. The stream can be followed on the official Xbox channels.
If you are a fan of the streamers Papaplatte, Trymacs and Gronkh, you can look forward to the game break. For example, the three influencers will be playing games at gamescom, playing Pen & Paper, inviting guests and much more. The game break will run on the channels of the three streamers as well as on “gamescom now”.
