Xbox is bringing the racing game—complete with cross-play and cross-save—to the Sony console in January 2027. Premium Edition buyers will even get early access five days before the official release.
Xbox has now officially confirmed that the PS5 version of Forza Horizon 6 will no longer be released this year.
The game will therefore launch on January 26, 2027, confirming a leak yesterday from the well-known insider billbil-kun.
If you purchase the more expensive Premium Edition of the racing game, you’ll be able to play five days earlier, starting January 21, 2027. Incidentally, the first expansion for Forza Horizon 6 will be released on the same day, though Playground Games has not yet provided any further details.
A free content update for all players is also scheduled for release at that time—the studio will provide more specific information shortly before the release.
At the same time, it was confirmed that the PlayStation 5 version will also be released on disc, and the price for the Standard Edition is 69.99 euros, matching the price on other platforms. The Deluxe Edition costs 99.99 euros, and the Premium Edition costs 119.99 euros—pre-orders are now available on the PlayStation Store.
Accompanying the announcement is a brand-new trailer, recorded on a PS5 in 4K in Quality Mode at 30 fps. A Performance Mode running at 60 fps is also available.
“The Horizon Festival is more fun together, and Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 will support cross-play and cross-save with the Xbox and Steam versions of the game,” it says. “In addition, all user-generated content is cross-platform, meaning PlayStation 5 players can enjoy a massive collection of community-created content from day one, including EventLab races, prefab buildings, garages, and estates, as well as paint jobs and customizations. With the arrival of an entirely new community in Forza Horizon 6, all players will benefit from even more content created and shared across platforms.”
