Two years after Final Fantasy Rebirth, the grand finale is on the horizon. Revelation is coming in spring 2027.

The End for the Big Remake of Final Fantasy 7
While there isn’t an exact release date yet, the live stream gave us plenty of gameplay insights, ranging from dynamic combat scenes with Cid and Vincent to exploring the vast game world via airship.
With Cloud’s crew, players will be able to pilot the airship Highwind through an open world and even seamlessly jump offboard and land safely using a parachute.
You’ll visit new locations such as the Wutai region on a large island in the west of the continent, which is also Yuffie’s home. Other locations include the outskirts of Midgard and the Madil Archipelago.
Matt Mercer—who voices Vincent Valentine—explains during the SGF presentation that the combat system from the two previous games has been revamped. Armed with a rifle and a spear, you’ll battle massive creatures created by the planet itself: the so-called Weapons. These are powerful, bio-mechanical machines that will give you a run for your money as boss enemies.
As a little bonus on top of that, there’s good news for PC players: Final Fantasy Revelation will be released simultaneously on all platforms (PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2). The two previous installments were initially released exclusively for Sony’s PlayStation; PC players had to wait nearly a year longer for those releases.
With the release of Revelation, the major remake project launched in 2020 officially comes to a close after seven years.
