With the power of homemade spells, a player can jump across the entire map and walk on water.
Compared to Skyrim, Oblivion was still the Wild West. In some areas, the game offered such unregulated game mechanicsthat truly adventurous things could happen. Nothing has changed in Oblivion Remastered .
Just how absurd this can get is demonstrated by a user on Reddit who uploaded a video of an incredible athletic feat. In the video, he shows how his character actually jumps from north to south across the entire map and even survives. Without any mods or cheats.
Video proof that it’s possible to jump from one end of the map all the way to the other without mods or cheats (Remastered)

How can that work?
In the video, the user shows all the active effects that are used Astronomical attribute values are crucial for this enormous jump. His speed, athleticism, and acrobatics are all well over 1,000. So not only can he jump ridiculously far, he can also run as fast as the Flash. At the end of the video, he can easily run across water.
Of course, these values don’t come from pure workouts and level ups. The user has exploited one of the most powerful methods in the entire game: self-made spells You normally only get this option when you join the mage guild and can then combine and modify spells.
The system can be exploited to absurd lengths to create enormously powerful spells. In the case of buffs, you can even combine them. In Oblivion, spell effects stack as long as the spells themselves have different names. So the user created a whole series of spells that buff his attributes and gave them different names.
He then cast the spells on himself, buffing his physical attributes enough to jump across the entire map.
Faster than fast travel?
In the comments, people are amused by what is possible in Oblivion. An entertaining connection to Skyrim is also made here. In the mage academy, a woman named Colette talks about how restoration magic is not sufficiently appreciated – but these are precisely the spells being used here to jump across the entire map.
Someone else writes that the jump is faster than fast travel. And there’s definitely something to that, especially on older systems. But just for fun, we did the math on our PC, and fast travel was actually a little faster in this case.
While the jump from the Diver’s Rock to the bay near Leyawiin took a full 20 seconds, fast travel to Etch’s Hollow (the southernmost fast travel point) only took about 11 seconds. Not to mention the time it takes to cast all the spells!
So fast travel is probably more worthwhile… in case anyone seriously doubted that.
