With the big update The Icarus’ Evolution, Dyson Sphere Program is dedicated to mecha personalisation. Soon to be patch release.

Build and optimise a factory like in Factorio and Satisfactory, but interplanetary: The Steam hit Dyson Sphere Program is already thrilling 97 percent of players in Early Access on Steam. Now publisher Gamera and developer Youthcat announced that the big update The Icarus’ Evolution will be released on 20 January 2022.

Just in time for the one-year Steam anniversary, everything revolves around mecha customisation. Players will be able to customise and embellish their mech, which they use to build and automate factories. In addition, there are the Advanced Mining Machine and Proliferator versions. The already complex factory-building game will soon get even more depth.

The Icarus’ Evolution forms the basis for a combat system that will follow in a later update. Do you have a heart for cute mechas? More new content is shown in the cheerful trailer:

What’s Dyson Sphere Program about again?

Dyson Sphere Program follows the concept of Factorio, which is also very popular with fans. Satisfactory also already went this way with much success and counter-love from players.

All three games have one thing in common: You have to build a functioning factory. So you collect resources, automate the collection with mining machines and connect them to an assembly line for direct processing, for example into iron ingots. From these you cut iron bars with further processing machines, which in turn form the basis for more complex goods.

By the way, there are also new screenshots to see:

This creates a playful pull, especially as beginners soon realise that their factories threaten to become more and more confusing and chaotic as they grow in size. So for the next run, you plan to build your factory smarter from the start. You also constantly optimise to produce more efficiently.

Dyson Sphere Program not only excites many Steam players, but also us. Why exactly, what sets it apart from Factorio and Satisfactory and whether it could be something for you, you can find out above in the Early Access test with rating tendency.
