Dying Light 2: How to use the “finger gun”

No firearms in Dying Light 2? No way: There’s a finger gun hiding in the zombie game. With this guide you’ll find the Left Finger of Glova.

Firearms in the world of Dying Light 2 are forbidden, rare and at best archaically cobbled together. But surprisingly, you can also find a powerful pistol apart from the bang stick and crossbow. And a really, really unusual gun at that.

Developer Techland is hiding an Easter Egg in Dying Light 2 that gives you a finger gun if you crack the corresponding puzzle. Yes, that’s right, a weapon that consists only of your drawn finger, but nevertheless catapults zombies through the air in a high arc.

The weapon is called Left Finger of Glova, a reference to the predecessor and its spiritual predecessor Dead Island, which had similar gimmicks. Bartosz Glova Kulon is the lead gameplay programmer at Techland who worked on all of these titles.

Where can I find the finger gun?

First of all, you need to have progressed quite far in the story of Dying Light 2 to be able to find the finger gun. Accordingly, this guide necessarily contains a few spoilers. If you are still at the very beginning of the game, feel free to return to this guide later when you have completed the Broadcast mission.

Those who read on now really want to know. Alright, we’re going to explain step by step how you can find the finger gun in Dying Light 2.

• To get your hands on the Finger Gun in Dying Light 2, you should have completed the Broadcast mission as mentioned before.

• Go to the district of Garrison and continue to the VNC Tower, which is visible from afar because it is the tallest building in Villedor.
  • After completing the broadcast quest, you can easily get to the roof of the skyscraper using the winch and the lift.))

  

  Look around on the roof and you will see another skyscraper with a tall antenna and a parachute hanging from the side from a GRE drop.

  • Fly your glider up to the roof with the antenna. This is where the puzzle begins, at the end of which your Finger Gun in Dying Light 2 awaits.

  

   

  How to solve the puzzle?

  On the building with the antenna you have to solve a cable puzzle, similar to the ones in the power stations of Villedor. You have to take a power cable from the distribution box and connect it to the correct target box. The first time you do this, however, it is two floors below. But no problem, just follow the steps below.

  • Grab the cable from the distribution box, jump with it from the roof, activate your paraglider and fly to the second floor from the top. There you connect the cable to the power box.
  • Repeat the same game on the floor below to power up another floor.
  • Once you’ve done this three times, you’ll be right next to a security door that you can open with your GRE key. Inside is the Easter Egg you’ve been looking for in Dying Light 2.
  • But don’t open the door just yet, be sure to read on to avoid being disappointed in the end.

  Finger Gun Location

  When the GRE door opens, it gets dangerous again: Watch out for the onrushing boomer zombie! A leap backwards should give you enough distance to avoid being blown up by the colossus.

  Once the Boomer is out of the way, you will find yourself in a developer’s room that is pleasantly reminiscent of older games by Techland. On the coffee table in the corner of the sofa lies a letter with a few words of thanks to the players.
  
  How to get the finger gun: Go to the bedroom and sit on the bed between the teddy bears to trigger the final moment. As a reward for your efforts, a blueprint for the finger gun in Dying Light 2 awaits you on the Techland mural directly in front of you.

  What do I do with the blueprint now? You can use it to make the Finger Gun yourself from a hefty 369 scraps. It’s best to use it only in special moments, because after only 16 shots it’s used up and you’ll have to make a new one
