Darktide is constantly criticised by players. The latest update addresses many of the issues that we have also criticised

Warhammer 40K: Darktide received a new update, namely Patch 4 – Blessings of the Omnissiah. The update is already available for download. It contains dozens of improvements and fixes for problems that were previously criticised by many players.

Among other things, many weapons have been rebalanced and bugs have been fixed, but the biggest aspects concern crafting, weapon availability and mission rewards. We’ll summarise the highlights and kindly direct you to the page-long patch notes if you don’t want to leave out any detail.

This is what’s in Update 4 for Darktide

If you have two minutes to spare, you can also watch the most important improvements of the new Darktide update in the video:

A compact summary of the most important improvements:

  • Shrine of the Omnissiah: The crafting station has been expanded to provide weapons with more targeted blessings, i.e. to improve them and adapt them to your own play style.
  • More missions appear simultaneously. In addition, the available difficulty levels have been adjusted. Side missions now pay out specific rewards such as experience points based on the difficulty level selected.
  • More Direct Rewards: There is now a friendly gift from the Emperor after each mission. Depending on the difficulty and mission specials applied, this increases the chance of getting higher class loot.
  • Buy all weapons at any time: Players can now purchase base blueprints for weapons in the Armory and no longer have to rely on random offers.
  • The weekly missions at Sir Melk have been revised. Thus, Fatshark removed the most tedious tasks and added new ones. Overall, the tasks should be faster to complete and more rewarding.
  • Many improvements to weapon and class balance have been made.

Many steps in the right direction

Warhammer 40,000 Darktide gave critics the impression that it was designed to be a lengthy grind. Players chastised the game for this with mixed reviews andrapidly dwindling live player numbers

Update 4 is now receiving much more positive reactions from the community, as can be read in the (official forum) and on (Reddit) among other places.

The patch notes contain many criticisms from the community. For example, the random weapons in the shop met with little approval, as well as the limited options for crafting.

It remains to be seen whether the player numbers will also recover over time. And it will be exciting to see how Fatshark plans to continue with their co-op shooter in future updates.
