On October 20, 2026 , Night City will be on fire again, as that’s when Season 2 of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners premieres on Netflix. However, there won’t be a reunion with David Martinez, Lucy, and the gang, because—following the classic anthology format—the new episodes will center on new characters and a new crew: The seasoned Edgerunner Weak Kingsley, the Snake Nation Netrunner D, the ex-Corpo Talia Yang, and the young media mogul Roman Carax.
The trailer for Edgerunners Season 2 features scenes that come as no surprise in the context of Cyberpunk: plenty of blood and chrome, at least one looming cyber-psychosis, an appearance by MaxTac, and plenty of tears for our main characters.
One detail, however, is causing quite a stir: At 00:19, D appears to come into possession of a chip that suspiciouslyresembles Arasaka’s Engram biochip from Cyberpunk 2077. Thanks to a similar model, a digital copy of the Rockerboy Johnny Silverhand was haunting V’s mind.
Combined with all the other clues the trailer drops—such as when D is asked by Roman“Are you a weapon? A weapon made of people?”– a tragedy we already know from Cyberpunk 2077 could be repeating itself here.
