“Charting the Unknown” is the name of the upcoming expansion for Crimson Desert. Now, Pearl Abyss has revealed new details about the DLC. It’s all about exploring the ocean, shipbuilding, a few new elements for business and housing, and the wonderful spark of romance. So there are all sorts of new features—it’s easy to lose track of them all.

All the new content from the Crimson Desert DLC

A new trailer showcases the new features. Over the course of six minutes, the developer takes us into the depths of the ocean and introduces the new features of “Charting the Unknown.” After all, it’s enough if “unknown” remains just part of the title—we’re getting a bit more information anyway.

Here’s a quick rundown of all the features and content:

  • New storylines
  • Sea voyages and shipbuilding
  • Romances and marriage
  • New home customization options
  • New management options for your business
  • New boss challenges

That’s quite a lot. So when the update drops on October 29, you’ll be ready to dive right in. But first, let’s go over the new features in detail.

The adventure continues for Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka. They’ll meet new allies and have to contend with new enemies—as well as a few old ones. Just business as usual. Oh, and in a new challenge, you can take on waves of bosses.

Shipbuilding and exploring the ocean are major focuses of the DLC. The Great Ocean awaits you, and later on, you can even unlock shipbuilding. You can also have diving suits crafted to experience the underwater world up close. There, you’ll find sunken treasures and ruins. Or, you could do the coolest thing of all: ride on the back of a sea creature.

Yes, in comparison, building romantic relationships with certain characters almost seems boring again. You can build intimacy with special dialogue options, flirt a little, and even get married in the end.

You also have more options for decorating your homes or managing your business better—so are we turning Crimson Desert into an economic simulation now? Oh well, why not.
