The largest content pack to date will bring massive visual upgrades, improved AI, new maps, and fresh content for Final Stand in November.

Relic Entertainment has announced the extensive Update 3.0 for Company of Heroes 3, which is being released to mark the franchise’s 20th anniversary.

The update will be released on November 5, 2026, for PC and is the largest yet for the strategy game.

“The update was designed to noticeably enhance nearly every aspect of Company of Heroes 3,” the announcement states. “It brings extensive visual and atmospheric upgrades, significant audio improvements, smarter AI, gameplay and balancing adjustments, new and revamped maps, improvements to the campaign, and new content for the Final Stand mode. Together, these changes take the gaming experience to a new level for both newcomers and returning players and underscore Relic’s long-term support for the title.”

A complete overhaul of visuals and audio: New weather effects and classic tracks

Technically, Version 3.0 introduces, among other things, new snow and rain weather effects, revamped fog, optimized lighting for soldiers, dynamically wet ground, an updated animation system, and expanded environmental assets. You can also look forward to new battlefields with industrial, winter, and fall themes.

Meanwhile, fresh and improved weapon sounds, crisper impact and explosion effects, and revamped sounds for enemy and friendly vehicles are set to enhance the soundscape. Furthermore, the music selection has been expanded to include classic tracks from *Company of Heroes* and *Company of Heroes 2*.

Smarter AI and Campaign Tweaks: Changes to Gameplay

Regarding gameplay: “The update introduces important tweaks to gameplay that improve the overall experience in detail. The AI benefits from improved performance in the late game as well as a new calculation logic for combat ratings. As a result, the AI makes smarter decisions on the battlefield and exhibits more strategic retreat behavior. Additional balancing adjustments build on previous updates to encourage more diverse strategic playstyles and specifically curb overpowered tactics.”

In the campaign, bugs that previously could block game progress have been fixed. Other bugs have also been addressed, and you can expect improvements to gameplay and presentation. The dynamic Italy campaign map receives a visual upgrade designed to match the quality of the other graphical updates—including improved clarity and readability.
