Rock and Stone! Fans celebrate Deep Rock Galactic for Season 1 and the Rival Incursion. More players than ever are playing the co-op shooter.

The first thing greenbeards learn in Deep Rock Galactic is that when a co-op character yells Rock and Stone, you have to return the greeting! The second thing players quickly find out is that the developers at Ghost Ship Games lovingly care for their game, communicate a lot with the community, and regularly release large and free updates.

In the latest, largest content update to date, Deep Rock Galactic not only gets its first Season Industrial Sabotage, but also new weapons and missions, as well as an entirely new enemy faction called Rival Tech. In the new missions, the drones represent serious competition for the interstellar mining company and thus the players. Season 1 also includes a completely free Performance Pass and themed events, among other things.

You can get a good overview of the new content for Deep Rock Galactic in the trailer:

The Reaction: New Steam Record

With the new update, Deep Rock Galactic not only earned cheers from fans on Steam, but also pushed their own record numbers to a new all-time high. As you can see on (Steamcharts.com), around 36,000 dwarf fans were playing the co-op shooter at the same time on Friday, 5 November 2021 at around 22:00. So this is a huge upward spike for the game, which has been growing steadily for years anyway.

With its impressive procedural cave generation and the fun and varied gameplay of mining, exploration and shooting, Deep Rock Galactic can now claim a place among the 50 most-played Steam titles.

Have you already tried Deep Rock Galactic or are you even actively playing it? What do you think of the development and the new content? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
