Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order have been releasing new videos for Cities: Skylines II lately, in which they go into detail about the new gameplay features of the upcoming city-building simulator. The focus of the latest video is the creation of zones.

A reasonably designed city has different zones. In one the inhabitants live, in another they work and in a third various products are produced for them. Of course, an area for leisure activities should not be missing!
The design of these so-called zones also plays an important role in Cities: Skylines II. That’s why the developers explain the so-called zone tool in the latest video.

In Cities: Skylines II you can, for example, create residential zones with a highmedium and low density  In addition, you can build different building types such as detached houses, terraced houses and even prefabricated buildings. A particularly exciting feature should be the mixed flat building which has a shop on the ground floor.

To give you a little more freedom in the visual design of your city, you can choose between the European and the American architectural style  You can also use the (Paint-Toolfor further customisation.
If your city is doing particularly well, you can unlock so-called Signature Buildings (characteristic buildings) ,. While these function just like any other building, they also increase the value of the zone in question.

Cities: Skylines II will be released on 24 October for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. (Pre-orders) can be made now.
