Christmas is just around the corner and with it there are lots of sales and gifts on Steam, GOG & Co. We provide you with an overview.

Christmas is also a time of year when shops – both physical and digital – once again offer great discounts. Game shops are no exception, of course, whether Steam, GOG or the Epic Games Store: they all take part in the hustle and bustle.

So that you don’t lose the overview in view of the upcoming holidays, we offer you an overview of the current sales and free promotions on the respective platforms. Here you can find out when which sale starts, how long it lasts and which gifts you shouldn’t miss out on.

The 2021 Christmas and Winter Sales

Steam Winter Sale 2021


When? The Winter Sale on Steam starts on 22 December 2021, closing on 5 January 2022.

What? First and foremost, of course, discounts on a variety of games. In addition, voting for the Steam Awards will begin. It is still unclear whether another promotion will be launched. We will of course keep you up to date here.

Gifts? You can get a randomly selected (animated sticker) for your Steam profile.

Origin Festive Offers


When? The holiday offers in the Origin Store started on 21 December 2021. There is no mention of when it will end.

What? Many games from EA across numerous genres are discounted, including sports games like Madden NFL 22, action-adventures like the great Jedi: Fallen Order or the sci-fi epic Mass Effect: Legendary Edition.

Gifts? No – there are no free titles or other goodies waiting for you in the Origin Store.

GOG Winter Sale 2021


When? GOG’s winter sale started on 13 December 2021. It will end on 5 January 2022.

What? Lots of offers. There are offers that are permanently active as well as flash offers that are only valid for 48 hours. Interested gamers should therefore take a look at the GOG page every now and then.

Gifts? Yes. On 23 December, 27 December and 3 January, a total of three games will be given away. It is not yet clear which ones, however.

Epic Games Store – Holiday Sale 2021


When? The holiday sale on the Epic Games Store started on 16 December 2021 and will run until 6 January 2022.

What? In addition to the classic offers, there are again €10 vouchers that you can use indefinitely on all purchases of €15 or more. Epic is also giving away in-game items for Fortnite, Rocket League and Warframe.

Gifts? Yes! There are to be 15 games given away again this year. However, each free promotion will only be valid for 24 hours at a time. So it’s worth checking back every day.

Ubisoft Winter Sale 2021


When? Ubisoft’s winter sale started on 14 December 2021. It will end on 6 January 2021.

What? Again, there are primarily reduced prices for various Ubisoft games. On top of that, you can get an additional 22 percent off your order with the code HELLO22.

Gifts? Yes. Until 22 December, you can get the platform game (Rayman Origins) for free.

Gamesplanet XMAS Deals


When? Gamesplanet is currently running XMAS Deals, which have currently arrived in week 4.

What’s on
? Numerous games are significantly reduced in price, including, among others, the Souls games or the Resident Evil series. There are no other special promotions, however.

Gifts? No, at Gamesplanet it’s all about discounts.
