Thanks to a mod, someone was able to play Baldur’s Gate 3 without a race or class and thus play the game as a completely normal person.
The content creator Bouch has tried the unthinkable and entered the fantastic world of Baldur’s Gate 3 alone as a completely normal person. Where everyone else would probably be taken apart every few minutes, the YouTuber benefits from his extensive BG3 knowledge and actually manages to complete the game.
Normal isn’t normal
What if we were just some guy from nowhere?
– Bouch asks himself this question at the beginning of a YouTube video in which he presents a daring experiment. He wants to play Baldur’s Gate 3 without owning a class or belonging to a people – and all alone.
Anyone who has played Baldur’s Gate 3 themselves knows that this is actually not possible. After all, you are forced to make a decision at the beginning. Here, Bouch resorted to a mod and skipped the selection. The result was a simple person without special abilities, spells, properties and buffs. Just an ordinary guy!
Accordingly, his values looked disastrous. For example, he had to make do with the lowest possible movement speed and a measly eight health points.
The missing stats also ensure that most weapons and armor cannot be used properly. The only salvation was the gigantic abundance of powerful and magical items that allowed him to progress despite physical confrontations – even alone.
Was there no help at all? Baldur’s Gate 3 is known for its eccentric and powerful companions, who can support the main character in combat with attacks and additional bonuses. But that wouldn’t fit with the experiment. Bouch only occasionally resorted to temporary companions in order to be able to overcome particularly tricky passages. In the endgame, the path to victory was a mixture of magical items and ice-based spells that could be used to create multiple debuffs within one action.
