According to industry insider Tom Henderson, work is already underway on the mode – but a release date has not yet been set.

For Assassin’s Creed Shadows is currently in the works for a co-op mode that is to be released after the postponed game. However, there is said to be no specific date for the later release yet.

The information comes from the well-known industry insider and leaker Tom Henderson and was published on his website Inside Gaming

Development is running under the code name “League”

There Henderson writes that the co-op mode at Ubisoft is currently running under the code name “League”.However, it is not yet known when the mode will be released This is because the postponement of the game, which Ubisoft recently announced, is affecting the entire production process.

According to Henderson, “League” has been in development for quite some time – long before the postponement to February 14, 2025 was announced. So this is not a supplement that Ubisoft is working on due to the delay.

What the game mode will entail exactly is not yet known. Henderson speculates that the main characters Naoe and Yasuke will fight side by side, using their different combat skills to take out opponents.

In the video here you can see how completely different the two main characters play:

Henderson points out that Ubisoft is working on another multiplayer project in the Assassin’s Creed universe alongside the “League” co-op mode. Accordingly, it is assumed that the multiplayer game Assassin’s Creed Invictus is scheduled for release in 2025.

Earlier this week, Henderson had reported on the background to Assassin’s Creed Shadows.Accordingly, significantly more factors were said to have been decisive for the postponement of the title than previously suspected.

Internally, there had been a desire for a change of schedule for some time in order to get the game on the right track. This is because the title had some shortcomings in terms of gameplay and technology, as well as in terms of content, shortly before the planned release.
