The remake of the horror adventure game Alone in the Dark has made available a free prologue that you can play right now

The days are getting longer and the sun is finally shining bright and beautiful – the perfect weather for a horror game! Since the scary month of October with all the horror games is waiting for us, you can at least take a look at Alone in the Dark right now – completely free of charge!
The remake now has a (playable chapter on Steam), PlayStation and Xbox ready for you to play. Just go to the title”s shop page and download the Prologue

But don”t worry: you won”t be spoiled for the main story of Alone in the Dark. To be more precise, the playable version is not even supposed to be in the finished game, so you won”t have to play anything twice.

What to expect in Alone in the Dark

The remake of the classic from 1992 is hardly recognisable. Instead of static cameras, you can now play from a third-person perspective. The main characters might also look familiar to you, as they are embodied by actors David Harbour and Jodie Comer. Fans of Stranger Things or the latest Hellboy film will recognise the former in particular.

The plot takes place in Louisiana in the 1920s when the owner of a huge estate mysteriously passes away. Allegedly, the mansion with the name Derceto is cursed – which eventually arouses the interest of two personalities: Private detective Edward Carnby (David Harbour) and the niece of the deceased, Emily Hartwood (Jodie Corner). Depending on which of the two characters you choose, your gaming experience will change.

As if that wasn”t enough exciting news, the release date was also revealed: On 25 October, the horror adventure will be released for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. By then, fortunately, the sun won”t be shining so brightly either.

Will you get a taste of the prologue now or would you rather wait until October and then take in the full experience? And what do you generally think of the strong graphical differences to the predecessor, especially the new camera? Feel free to write us your opinion in the comments!
