After long months of radio silence, the addon to Forza Horizon 5 has apparently been confirmed: Hot Wheels. Vroom, vroom.

It’s been quiet around Forza Horizon 5. While its predecessor has long since had its DLCs on the road so many months after release, Microsoft’s and Playground’s plans for the Mexico open-world are still chugging around in some garage so far. But that will soon change.

As part of Microsoft’s Xbox Showcase during Summer Game Fest 2022, we were expecting some kind of Forza announcement anyway, and now Steam has apparently spilled the beans. Reliable leaker Wario64 promptly chimed in, as a banner on the Forza product page has already revealed what cat Microsoft is letting out of the bag on Sunday: Forza Horizon 5 is getting a Hot Wheels DLC. Toy cars, that is.

If this is the only DLC announcement for Forza Horizon 5, then of course all the fans who are hoping for a realistic expansion of the Open World, for example in the direction of the Yucatan, will be left out in the cold.

A trend continues

Forza Horizon 5 getting some fun racer DLC has become a tradition. Forza Horizon 4 had its surprisingly fun LEGO open-world – and Forza Horizon 3 also already offered a hot wheels expansion. At the time, the DLC focused on wild jumps, loops and all the other facets that make up the Hot Wheels toy.

We assume the leak is true – unless Wario64 is a truly gifted MS paint artist. Either way, we’ll find out what’s planned for Forza at Microsoft’s big showcase event on Sunday night at the latest. Hopefully also for Forza Motorsport, the semi-arcade simulation that has been very, very quiet for quite a while.

How can you best be there? Well, through us, of course, glad you asked! We will be accompanying the entire fair as part of our big FYNG event. Just check out the linked programme schedule to see what times you’ll need to get your coke, chips or other schmackos of your choice. See you there.
