In the third edition of Fortnite’s Shortnite, things are getting spooky just in time for Halloween. Those who watch the scary strips long enough will receive an event item.

A new event is set to bring fear and terror to Fortnite. During “Shortnite: Nightmares” (from the English Shortnitemares), you can visit an in-game cinema where seven eerie short films are playing.

The eerie spectacle starts at midnight on 29 October and can be enjoyed until 11pm on 1 November.

How to see the shortnitemares

To watch the movies, all you have to do is hop into the “Shortnite: Nightmares” game mode and go to the cinema created by the Quantum Builds creator team.

You can either watch the films one by one in any order by going to the appropriate rooms. Or you can sit down in the large auditorium and watch the seven films in continuous loop – your choice! If you want to play a game while watching the films, you can do that too: developer Epic Games lets you watch the scary flicks while you play with the picture-in-picture feature.

Rewards and new skin

Whoever watches the films for at least 30 minutes will receive the “Spray Lard” spray motif. Behind the appetising name is a brain in a preserving jar. In addition, a new skin joins the Fortnite skins: The Popcorn Fighter (in the original Kernel Poppy) is a walking popcorn bag.

The buttered movie fan is already available from 28 October and brings a back accessory and an emote to the game.
