Although FIFA 23 is the most popular soccer game, there are still some things to find fault with it. We asked the pros at the VBL finals in Cologne for their opinion.

FIFA 23 is by far the most popular soccer simulation at the moment. With the separation of FIFA and EA Sport hopes for a breath of fresh air in the next game. Because although FIFA 23 is so successful, there are still some things to be said about it. At the VBL finals in Cologne, we asked the pros for their opinion.

The Weekend League

Professionals probably the biggest complaints, there were to the current state of the Weekend League and not without reason. Because as ex-FIFA pro and current VBL commentator Erhan said in his interview:” The Weekend League has become completely irrelevant.”

The reason for this is the poor rewards you get for placing well. Especially in this FIFA where there are new Objectives every week that give you good packs. With rewards like that, playing 20 games in a weekend just isn’t worth it anymore.

Of the professionals interviewed, only the player BeneCR7x, who is currently under contract with NEO, was satisfied with the concept of the Weekend League. Nevertheless, like many others, he complained about the toxic community.

The Gameplay

This year in FIFA, for the first time in a while, there were big changes to the gameplay. Finally, big and strong players like Erling Halland or Toni Kroos were in the meta. Although these were generated after a few months, they are still playable.

Although many found the changes in this FIFA good, the ex-professional Erhan is not yet convinced. This wishes the gameplay of FIFA 18 and FIFA 19 back. He finds the fast gameplay of the old FIFA parts more appealing and skill-heavy.
