On 29 September the FIFA successor FC 24 will be released. Also in the “new” football simulation we can expect a lot of icon cards with especially good stats. Which icons are confirmed so far and which ones we can expect, we take a look at in this article.
EA Sports FC – This icon is already confirmed
With EA Sports FC we can look forward to an absolute premiere. Because the first and only icon confirmed so far is a woman for the very first time.
But the first iconic player is not just any player, but the American football legend Mia Hamm. The now 51-year-old is not only on the cover of the Ultimate Edition of EA Sports FC 24, but also made an appearance in the official gameplay trailer.
The striker played for the American national football team for 17 years and was twice voted FIFA World Player of the Year. Furthermore, she is a two-time world champion as well as a two-time Olympic gold medallist. She is still considered the best female footballer in history.
In FC 24, however, she will not remain the only female icon.
EA Sports FC Icons – Rumours and Leaks
Although there is no official confirmation of this yet, some information about more icons has of course already been leaked.

An icon card will also be dedicated to former Manchester United player Bobby Charlton according to Twitter account “DonkTrading“.
The midfielder is one of the nine footballers to have won both the Champions League, a World Cup and the Ballon d’Or.
The next icon card leaked so far shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to most.
According to DonkTrading, Bayern legend Franck Ribéry will also be honoured with a Special Card. However, Europe’s Footballer of the Year 2013 has definitely earned his iconic status with nine Bundesliga titles, one CL victory and six DFB Cup successes.
Does Birgit Prinz also come into play?
The well-informed leak account FUTZone has also “confirmed” the rumours surrounding Ribéry. According to him, however, we will get at least two more women as icons besides Hamm: Birgit Prinz and Kelly Smith.
With Prinz, probably the most defining figure of German women’s football would appear in FC 24. As a two-time World Champion, five-time European Champion and three-time World Player, she has more than earned her legendary status.

Kelly Smith can probably look forward to an iconic card as well. The Englishwoman played for the national team from 1995 to 2014 and was the Lionesses’ record goalscorer until 2021.
No other icons have been announced yet, but it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on the latest developments surrounding EA Sports FC 24.
