The first patch 1.01.1 has been released for FromSoft’s co-op spin-off Elden Ring: Nightreign, bringing changes to solo mode and balancing.
Elden Ring Nightreign reached over 300,000 players on Steam alone in the first hour after its release on May 30, 2025. However, the co-op adventure has “only” received 72 percent positive reviews. The game is dividing Souls fans. At the top of the list of criticisms are the overly difficult solo mode and other balancing issues.
Just a few days after release, FromSoft has delivered a first patch that addresses some of the criticisms.
The highlights of patch 1.01.1
- Solo mode: When playing Nightreign alone, you will now be revived once during the boss fight, giving you a second chance. Before the update, you only had one attempt to defeat the difficult enemy without any help, after which it was game over. You will also now receive more runes in solo mode, allowing you to level up faster.
- Better and rarer relics: When you reach Day 3 – i.e. the Night Lord – in your run, you will now receive better relics as a reward, which will help you on your further expeditions. In the Small Vessel Bazaar, the chance of getting relics with a higher rarity level will also increase when you buy the small “blind boxes” (Scenic Flat Stones).
- Parkour! In the Steam version, the climbing system has also been adjusted so that your character should now be able to grab edges better – both with a controller and with a keyboard.
- Bug fixes: The patch also addresses a number of bug fixes. You can read exactly what these are in the patch notes on page 2.
